Day 2 Slice of Life

Day 2

This is my first Slice of Life post as I am a first time participant in this challenge.  I am a little nervous because I have not been blogging regularly for about a year or so.  But I found out about this challenge yesterday afternoon through a blog that I follow. So I took a deep breath, filled out the participant form and here I am.

Now what am I to write, that is the question. This is a challenge to write on my blog every day for the month of March and link up with other bloggers. I’m really excited about this because I am hoping it will help get myself back on track to regular blogging.  I truly do miss it, as it has always been a good outlet for me.

Well I missed Day 1, but that’s ok.  I’m writing now for Day 2 so I’m excited about that. However I honestly have nothing exciting to share today as I am still in shock I think from taking this challenge.  So hopefully tomorrow will be a much better enlightening post.

OHHH it’s my daughter’s 16th birthday today!!  I actually wrote the above late last night so I wasn’t even thinking clearly!  Anyway I am so proud of her and the wonderful person she is.  I can’t believe she is 16…the years just flew by.  She is a very special young lady and I love her to pieces!

Ok, until tomorrow…

  1. Way to go. Keep going. I write what comes to mind. I sit and clear my mind and just write what is going on in the background in my home. The sounds, the smells and the events. :) Hope this helps.

  2. Welcome Shannan! You will quickly learn that this writing community is full of encouragement and support! It's a hard challenge for us all, but the benefits out weigh everything else! This challenge will help you find your groove of writing again -- and then it will be a habit! And there will be days you have no idea what to write about, but I have found writers can even connect to that! Happy writing and welcome!

  4. WELCOME to our writing community, Shannan!

Be sure to check the "be inspired" section of the call for slice of life stories every day in case you need inspiration with something to write about.

Don't worry about missing the first day. As long as you're writing consistently by 3/5, then you're in the running for prizes at the end fo the month.

  5. Shannan, I took that same deep breath after finding the SOLSC at the last minute (I've known about it for years, but who plans ahead for this sort of thing!?) I'm enjoying the experience and am sure you will too.

  7. I am so proud of you my friend! I will be praying for you as you write each day. It is also my goal to get back into blogging! I love it and miss it so much, but you know how my time is so very limited right now. I need to get back into it at least once a week though. I got my email from litfuse about the blogging tour for Unsinkable Faith, and seen you are scheduled for April 23rd! I am on schedule for April 18th, (which is my birthday!:) ) I am so excited, but nervous. I've never done this before. I am going to start early so I have plenty of time to make it good! Lol!!! Congratulations on taking this step and committing to this goal!!!!! Love you my beautiful friend!!!!! <3
